Princess Pink

Shades for Shelters® - Each pair sold we donate enough money to feed a shelter dog for an entire day.

Princess Pink

Our "Princess Pink" sunglasses embody resiliency, strength, and unperturbed cheerfulness in the face of adversity, drawing inspiration from a loving, strong-spirited dog named Princess.

Princess was surrendered by her previous owners simply due to her old age. In addition to the heartbreak of abandonment, she also struggled with severe hip dysplasia, leading to a unique walk that earned her the nickname 'Toad.' Nevertheless, her physical conditions never put a damper on her unyielding spirit.

Though wrangling with health issues, Princess's affectionate heart still held an undeniable fondness for other dogs, she very much enjoyed the company and play of the other shelter dogs.

Princess spent 8 long months in the shelter before she eventually found her new home. Princess is currently enjoying retirement with her new family.

Biodegradable Acetate Frames

All products eventually make their way out of circulation. Big Bear frames and temples are made from a high quality bio acetate compound that will decompose far faster than traditional plastics. They're also more flexible than plastic frames, making them far more resistant to breakage.

Premium Acetate Sunglasses

They may look basic but they're definitely not your gas station sunglasses. These shades don't feel like plastic, because they're not. They "feel" real, like they're not going to break, and they're backed by a Lifetime Warranty. Durable, flexible acetate frames, solid 5 barrel hinges with philips head screws, fingerprint resistant, matte finish.

A blast from the 1970s

Big Bear Sunglasses draw inspiration from the iconic Seiko 6105 timepiece, immortalized in the 1970s by Francis Ford Coppola's cinematic masterpiece, "Apocalypse Now." Capturing the essence of that era's adventurous spirit and timeless style, these sunglasses pay homage to the rugged, utilitarian design of the Seiko 6105.

Great for Light Sensitivity

I LOVE my Big Bear Sunglasses! The entire shopping experience was smooth, easy, and you can easily navigate the website. Shipping and processing was quick and I got my sunglasses and hat sooner than I thought I would.

The sunglasses are comfortable and block out a lot of the brightness, which is a must for me as I have light sensitive eyes and migraines. The hat is comfortable and easy to adjust. One of my favorite parts of the company is how much they give back to local shelters!
